Masturbating Barbie's

Pleasuring oneself is a topic women's magazines seem to be preoccupied with, and based on sales figures, it also would appear to be a topic women enjoy reading about. There are articles on finding one's G spot that at times make you feel like you need a degree on your vagina to master! Though there are pages on masturbation in women's magazines, there is still somewhat of a stigma to female self stimulation. The overly forward fashion the writers use to discuss female masturbation at times make it seem like a joke, that women need to be trained to do these things…perhaps even the allusion then that the practice is unnatural, despite that in the same breath they tell you at exactly what angle you need to pass the clitoral wall to find the rough patch of skin...they say that it's the most natural thing in the world. Is this yet another way of allowing women to master their sexual power, without a man, so that they too may gain the only power on offer to the gender? The phallic is a symbol of power, so then if we create a phantom phallic we gain the power. Why then are women being defined by men…women are what men are not. This is similar to powerful women wearing power suits to work and not a feminine floral number; women have to conform to the masculine stereotypes and present male characteristics to gain power even outside the bedroom. Do you think a woman that masturbates is more or less powerful than one that does not?

Women of the world, masturbate! Take charge of your sexuality! What the hell do you need men for anyway?
