Horror-scopes

We all know they're full of shit, so why do we read them? Why are women more susceptible to the horoscope than men? And why is it a horror-scope? I personally can't wait to flip through the pages of women's magazines to find my horoscope…I read it daily on the internet and would buy a magazine for my sign's year prediction…or maybe just read it at the check out…anyhow I'm hooked. Why does this scope effect women more than men...its much like gossip I assume...women want to know whats about to happen and what they can or cant do about it, we're thinkers...women want to know before hand the exact time and place their life is going to be shattered, where as men would rather just put up a new window when the time comes. I think the horoscope is to do with hope, but why cant we find hope elsewhere…churches (if religious), famous rags-to-riches tales, friends and family?...well, its just so much easier to buy a magazine than believe in a religion, let alone wake up early on a Sunday. As for those famous rags-to-riches tales, are just that, tales to you and well quite frankly sometimes your friends and family can drain you of hope altogether. It's just so much easier to listen to some random telling you what to do than try and work it out yourself...where else are you going to look for advice, the stars? The horrifying aspect of the horoscope is the acknowledged lack of hope in the world illuminated by the existence of the horoscope. The ambiguity works in its advantage, not only because the same statement you apply to your cat can be applied to your next relationship, but also because we like the wonder and mystery of what will happen next, that’s why we live, and anything that dwells in that wonder is a worthy addiction. Everyone is searching for the answers and if they are good, we hope to believe and if they are bad…well it's just a stupid horoscope! Now before you go, I have some words of advice, make sure you look and act your best everyday because any day within the next ninety years you may meet the love of your life.

But better in which way? well I am intrigued by the rambling, random, occasionally outrageous and always critical, assertive thoughtfulness of the statements being made.
Kind of reminds me of a young woman I met in media class today lol,
