Celestial Cowgirl

I was flipping through a magazine yesterday and read page after page of the "how to" to perfection. A state that is often equated with happiness, think of those bouncing women seductively staring into the camera, uttering "because you're worth it"…are they ever frowning (no, and not only because they've just had their botox visit!) How to be perfect in bed, how to have the perfect tan, how to pick the perfect purse and how to have the perfect figure …and all with a smile on your face! The "How to" says if you're not perfect you should at least be striving and here are 10 simple steps to creating a better you! At around page twenty-nine (just after the adverts finish) I thought about the possibility that, as I continue to say, all these things don't make you perfect. What if being a bronzed, size six, sex goddess with a cute Gucci purse does not make you perfect and thus not happy…this means there are no rules. This means there is no certainty, no fool proof way to perfection or happiness-is there no "Dummies Guide To"? Unfortunately, magazines act in this position…except in this case the Dummies are guiding it! I think it's easier to believe in a cream that can enhance your breasts rather than believe that they're okay as they are. Enhancing, lifting, tweezing are all the answers preventing us from asking the real question…why? The answer is, as far as I'm concerned, you don't have to be perfect to be happy, you just have to be comfortable. I don't think "The Celestial Cowgirl" position-where he lies on his back while you lower yourself into him, your stomach facing the ceiling and your knees on either side of his torso, will be comfortable…neither will mastering it make you happy. The same goes for a streak free tan, or an eating disorder. But then who am I to tell you the "How to" to being comfortable?
